Back to Shanghai

Wednesday Jan 28^th…

Woke up and went to breakfast provided by the hotel.  It was a mixture of mostly Chinese food and some western food.  But dumplings for breakfast, I love it!!! Our last stop on our trip was to a place called The Temple of the Flying Peaks.  We all misunderstood our tour guide and were expecting to see The Temple of the Flying Pigs. Caitlin and I were banking on seeing a statue of a pig with wings and then the whole when pigs can fly thing would have actually been true J needless to say we climbed to the top of this mountain and our guide is sitting their explaining that this is where the pigs are and pigs this pigs that. We were all very confused but we went with it. Later we come to find out she was saying peaks the whole time. What a let down! But still a great climb to the top, and some wonderful views.

The Temple area was packed with a ton of people. There were many Buddha carvings right in the side of the mountain. They were all very detailed.  It was a short visit to The Temple of the Flying Peaks but it was still fun to see and a great laugh about the pigs. We ate Lunch and got back on the bus to leave Hangzhou and head for Shanghai. It ended up being about a 3 hour trip back to Shanghai but I slept a little bit so it wasn’t that bad.

When we got back to Shanghai we just hung out for a while and then the group decided to go to dinner. At this point we were all pretty tired of big traditional Chinese meals so went to Pizza Hut. Caitlin and I split a small supreme pizza and some garlic bread; they didn’t have bread sticks L the pizza was delicious, they put pineapple on their supreme pizza. Another weird thing was that there was no sauce on the pizza it was a great pan style crust with awesome toppings but no sauce.

After dinner we just came back to the Faculty Club and hung out. We were all exhausted so we didn’t end up going out.
